WABC
New York Studio D, 2025
work completed for Clickspring Design
Functionally as well as visually, WABC’s main New York studio centers on its anchor area, which is backed by an impressive LED expanse and maintains direct adjacencies to a robust weather center and an immersive LED volume.
The video technology within the set assures ultimate flexibility in setting the studio’s tone and delivering content.
The framework for this technology, then, employs clean architectural forms subtly referencing the “7” logo, as curved elements intersect more rectilinear volumes. Adding to this language, abstractions of the logo at both small and super-graphic scales appear as unique textures and signature formal elements throughout the set. Finally, the three key studio zones are connected by paths of color-changing lit pinstripes, loosely reminiscent of NYC subway map lines.
The resulting space feels cohesive and delivers WABC with a studio that is quickly recognizable even as tone and content shift.
